Joyschool Fieldtrip: Pumpkin Patch

This month for Joyschool our field trip we took a trip to the Waterman's Farm Market, but basically a huge pumpkin patch with hay rides, carnival rides, corn maze, pumpkin-eating dinosaur show, pony rides, petting farm, market and more! It was awesome! We did the "Preschool Field Trip" option and got in for free, with the kids only $4 which included all of the above attractions plus $2 pony rides. It was perfect for our group!

Ella, the horse lover, had been talking about riding a pony for over a week before when I told her we were going to this pumpkin patch.  She was a little disappointed that she only got to ride it around the little circle area once, but went to the side to pet it for a while afterwards. Cole even got a ride on it!

Here we are taking the hay ride to the pumpkin patch where the field trip groups got to pick out a free pumpkin! Yay!

Cole wanted every one he saw!

The kids really loved the petting animal area. They could pick up the straw on the floor and the goats would feed it out of their hands. They couldn't get enough of them!

This is the pumpkin-eating dinosaur show that played this loud scary dinosaur roar just like the Jurassic Park movies. The kids were actually really scared, and I had to keep telling them
it wasn't real.

Ella was so cute how she gave Kiera a hug because she was scared... such brave girls!

Right before leaving we visited the market for a treat to go home with. Ella picked a carmel apple sucker, yummy!

These pumpkins were HUGE, perfect little benches to sit on while demolishing lollipops!

The kids had so much fun, and we'll probably visit again next year! They slept so soundly when we got home from a whole day of fun-filled activities!

Haunted House at the Children's Museum!

For Scott's Fall break we took a day to go to The Children's Museum in downtown Indy.  We love it there, especially now that we have an access pass we'll be going a bunch this winter! It's filled with five floors of interactive play areas for kids. The very top floor is the carousel which is Ella's favorite.  It was so much fun to see a bunch of our dental friends and their families there!

One of the coolest art displays there is all this blown glass shapes in all sorts of styles and colors. You sit on this rotating circular bench and the whole ceiling is filled with the colored glass shapes.

Dress-up time as dinosaurs!

Here we are outside of the Haunted House at the Children's Museum. The kids were a little scared, so we had to hold them the entire way through. Getting candy inside helped a bit, it was fun!

FHE: Carving Pumpkins

We had our friends the Goffs over for FHE, dinner and pumpking carving. It was so fun to see who could create the best pumpkin! Thanks for joining us!

Scott's throwing-up pumpkin... nice

It was FREEZING that night... can you tell?
