Dance Class

Watch Ella at dance class! She took Intro to Dance at the YMCA we belong to, and I guess I can't complain too much for a 7-week class it was just under $25, even though she didn't learn much. But she loved it, and I guess that's all that matters.

Ella made a friend Hallie (we're friends with her parents through dental school) and they posed for a picture. They were cute seeing them dance around... and not paying attention most of the time.

To be honest, the dance class was kind of a joke, no real dance techniques were taught. It was Intro to Dance, not ballet as I thought. She was one of the youngest in the group and her ability to pay attention for a 45 min. dance class was hard for her. But she did have fun dancing around the majority of the time, I guess that is what's most important. In the fall I think I'll have to put her in a real ballet class, though.

Joyschool Fieldtrip: Greenhouse

For the spring unit in Joyschool, one of the mom's decided to have the girls visit a local greenhouse to learn about plants. Great idea.
Each girl was able to pick a type of flower and plant it in her own pot.

Ella, of course, picked a bright pink one.

The owner lady was so sweet, even had drinks and snacks for us after the tour! Good experience, and the girls had fun running through the rows of flowers!

I have to confess that I am a shopaholic... but all in good taste. I thrive on getting bargains on clothes, shoes, home decor, etc. This receipt shows me purchasing 3 sundresses and 2 girls shirts for $0.86 at Kohl's and saving $83.20. (click on image to enlarge). I love a good sale and bargain!

Well, this little Ella decided she would.... so she did and has the sucker to prove it!

Another Birthday... blah, blah, blah

Today I turned 28... boy, that sounds old! At least to me, who I never thought I'd get older than 25, ever! It's funny, when you're a kid you get so excited about your birthday, but now I'm getting to the point where I'm dredding it. I'm going to turn 30 our last year here in Indy, which makes me depressed.

So, getting older makes me reflect and think about my life. Am I doing what I want to be doing with my life, and have I accomplished what I wanted to by now? After taking some quiet time to myself (thanks to my husband for watching the kids while I took a peaceful bubble bath) I decided that I really am truly happy with my life and the way things are going. True, dental school has been the hardest thing to go through as a mother of two. But other than that part, I am glad to say that I am genuinely happy about my life and the choices I have made. I still have lots to learn and things I need to improve myself on. Yet, I have blessed in so many ways, and I know I have a lot of life yet to come, so to the years ahead and getting older: bring it on! Thanks to some of my girlfriends here who took me out to lunch and gave me flowers. I LOVE them, they really brightened up my day (and my kitchen). And thanks to my family and friends for all the cards, packages, phone calls and texts. You guys really do know how to make a girl feel loved!

Easter Weekend

The YMCA does an Easter egg hunt, pictures with the Easter bunny, face painting, and crafts. This is usually held outside, but it rained all day, so they held it in the pavillon. Cole didn't exactly know what to think of the bunny. Ella was scared of it at first, but then warmed up enough to wave to it a lot.
Ella really wanted her face painted like a cat, but bunny and cat look the same.

She also made this bunny visor.

Easter morning the easter bunny always leaves easter baskets filled with toys and goodies. He leaves a trail of marshmellows from the kid's bedroom doors to the location of the hiding bakets around the house.... Cole had fun eating the marshmellow trail!

Cole LOVES balls, and Ella likes bubbles.
