California Wedding

My baby sister Melanie got married the 17th of December at the Sacramento LDS Temple.  The day before all of us siblings and spouses (minus my hubby watching our 3 kids) were able to see her take our her endowments.  It was an amazing spiritual experience to have us all there together.

We had such a great time visiting with our extended family and friends from Sacramento.  The cousins LOVED being able to play together as well.  The wedding turned out PERFECT and we're excited to have Kyle part of our family now.

{Brock's Blessing}

We decided that while we were all together in California for my sister's wedding it'd be a good time to bless Brock.  And the ONLY advantage for Scott being in the bishopric is that we didn't need a member from a local bishopric there to preside.  It was awesome!  Brock had his Papa Fred, Uncle Grant, Uncle Scot, Daddy, Uncle Charlie and new Uncle Kyle there in the circle for the blessing.

Brock is such a cutie and finally starting to sleep a little bit better at night! He went to his 2mo. wellness check-up and here are his stats:

weight: 14 lbs, 1oz. (90th percentile)
length: 25 inches (95th percentile)
size clothing: some 0-3, 3-6
size diaper: 2

We LOVE having you in our family Brock!

Happy Birthday Scott!

Scott's actual birthday day was a little uneventful, since we just returned from California the day before and he had to get back to his "dungeon" to study.  His 4th year boards are this week, so he had to study all day but took one break for pizza and cake & ice cream.

Can't believe year 33 is already here. You were only 25 when we got married, and boy does that time fly when you're having fun!  Scott, you're a great father and husband to us, we love you so much.
Happy Birthday!

{Santa's Lap}

Here are the kids at our ward Christmas party. I am SO proud to say this is the first time my kids are NOT screaming their heads off.  Every year we try to get a nice picture of the kids on santa's lap... and was always a failure in 2010, 2009, and 2008.  Check out the previous years for proof!

(Brock started getting a little fussy though... but I'm still gonna say it's a good picture. )

The Circus is Coming to Town!

Last weekend Scott decided the night before to take the kids to the circus. He always wanted to take them and just found out the Ringling Brothers were in town! They actually had a whole day  planned out of eating "Breakfast with Santa" at Ella's school,  then downtown  to the circus, and finally to the mall for Christmas shopping. It was a day Brock and mommy got to do some quality bonding time.

The kids LOVED it, and Scott was just as enthralled as they were.

They saw the elephants, tigers, lions, bears, camels, monkeys, etc...  but they both came home sad to tell me no doggies were there.

There were some amazing acts they saw as well.  Flying trapeze artists, men in tall bendy stilts, clowns, and more.  Can't wait until we can all go as a big family someday.

Deer Hunting

Most men on Thanksgiving morning like to go play a game of Turkey Bowl, or run the Turkey Run 5k... but not Scott this year. He went hunting and shot a deer.  It was his 4th time going this season without any luck and was so excited to shoot one here in Indiana where the meat you can actually eat.  True story.

Our freezer is now full of salmon and deer meat to last us until we graduate in May. So proud of you honey for bringing home the bacon meat!
and there's all the meat

{tooth fairy}

A few days after we brought Brock home from the hospital, we were eating dinner together and Ella bit into corn on the cob...  and the above picture happened.  Didn't even know it was loose.

Then the next day she wiggled it a bit more and it fell out.  I thought Ella was going to be 6 or 7 before she'd loose a tooth.  She was so excited about the tooth fairy coming, Scott had to pull up pictures online to show her what the tooth fairy looked like.  The next morning she woke up Nanna showing her the dollar she found under her pillow.

You can hardly see the space when she smiles, but she was so excited to show her friends at school that day.

Trick-or-Treat

We were so lucky to have my mom come and help out after I had the baby.  I wish those 10 days didn't go so fast.  My kids cried when she left, and so did she.
Scott took the kids Trick-or-Treating this year while I stayed home with Brock and my mom.  I must say, Brock was the cutest skeleton ever!

Here's the kids devouring their loot from the night. They had fun even though it didn't last long since it was so cold outside.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!

Brock is Born!

We arrived at St. Francis at 6am on Thursday, October 27th and ready for baby. They do a slow drip pitocin, which I preferred over the two hour labor & delivery with Cole.  So, 8 hours later of painless labor (thanks to epidurals) and 7 minute delivery... Brock Craig Thompson was born at a whopping 9lbs 2oz. and 22 inches long.

He had the cord wrapped around his neck TWICE which we were so lucky there were no complications.  But probably was the cause behind his heartbeat going down a bit where we turned off the pitocin for 30 minutes to give him a break.

He is healthy and as perfect as can be, and we are so happy he is here.

Now we're a happy Family of FIVE!
So blessed are we!

39 weeks

Today I am 39 weeks along and  I'm so ready to have this little one out of me. This pregnancy has been easiest and hardest for me. I was less sick in the 1st trimester and for not as long as usual, and able to work out during the whole pregnancy (minus the last two weeks). But my energy has been nowhere in sight this time, probably because I've wasted it all chasing after two kids!  Tomorrow's the big day, wish me luck!

3rd Surgery

Cole's tubes were falling out and so he had to get new ones put in, and get his adnoids taken out. It was a longer surgery than his pollypocket shoe up the nose incident (remember it here) or his first time surgery of just tubes (click to view).  Well, this morning we were all up at 6am to be there by 7. Cole was happy and unusually hyper  and making all sorts of silly faces for me.  Notice how his demeanor changes AFTER surgery...

When we got him it was 45 minutes later than they said it would be, so we were a little anxious to get back to his recovery room.  He was crying and completely confused on what was going on.  The nurses told us they had to hold him down to put on the gas mask and he was resisiting pretty hard, so that's what he remembered when he woke up.  He head bunted the nurse when he woke up because he was still mad.... that little fighter!

We couldn't leave until he drank something, and he refused apple juice for 10 minutes, so the nurse brought in a popsicle which worked. He had to have an IV so that's why his arm is wrapped up, and he DID NOT like that thing on at all.  I'd say in a day or two he'll be his usual self again. Poor guy.

Apple Works

We've been wanting to hit a couple pumpkin patches since it's our last Autumn season here in Indy.  We loved it there.  The kids got to ride ponies and we all took the hay ride to the pumpkin patch.  Wish we had more time there! Who knows, we may visit again this year.
