Road Trip to Rexburg!

My friend Jessica and I drove down to Rexburg to go through the open house of the Rexburg Temple. It was fun to see how much the city has changed, and being there brought back so many fun college memories!

We had to take a dip in the pool and hot tub at the hotel, since we picked the coldest week ever to visit Rexburg... with temperatures usually around -23 degrees! And yes, we had to stay longer because of a snow storm... go figure!

We went out to eat with my sister, her finace Grant and our cousin Kaylin (who was nice enough to watch Ella while us girls went to see the movie: 27 Dresses)

We had to stay longer in Rexburg because of a snow storm, we were able to spend a night with Jill & Carlos and their cute boy Easton. Ella had lots of fun playing with him and all his toys.

It's Official!

WE'RE IN! Scott got accepted to Indiana University-Purdue Dental School! He went to three interviews: USC, Indianapolis, and Louisville... and we got put on waiting lists for both USC and Indianapolis. He was #1 on the waiting list for Indianapolis on December 1st. We got the call now, and so it's official. School starts July 2nd, a lot sooner than we expected... so we have a lot of work ahead of us for this move in early June, but we're excited!

1. I LOVE CHICK-FLICKS! Scott and I love watching movies and of course, I always want to pick a girlie movie. So, last weekend for date night Scott took me to the movies to see "P.S. I love You." For those of you who haven't seen it... run, don't walk to the nearest theaters and see it now! It is one of the best romantic comedies I've ever seen. I will probably buy this one! Other favorites include: How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days, While You Were Sleeping, 13 Going on 30, Runaway Bride, The Notebook, and more.

2. I LOVE CANDY! I love the fruity, gummy, chewy kinds of candy. For Christmas, Scott got me a huge selection of Sour Patch Kids, Starbursts, Gummy Lifesavers, etc. It's funny because girls are usually chocolate lovers, but I am not. I would prefer a bag of Swedish Fish over a Snickers Bar any day!

3. MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE: okay, well my biggest pet peeve might be a little contradicting at times, but my biggest pet peeve is when you're talking on the phone to someone and they start talking to someone else right next to them! If you have done this to me, there's a chance you might've been hung up on, but I'm sorry, I can't stand it. BUT, then at times I find myself attending to Ella while I'm talking on the phone myself. So, I think I'm guilty of doing this very thing myself... but Ella sometimes just needs my attention so bad!

4. I LOVE BUBBLE BATHS. Yes, I know this seems a little childish. But when it's been a hard day, the thing I need to do the most is just relax in a hot tub. The other day I was having one of the worst days ever, and I had this migraine and my wonderful husband saw me trying to feed Ella and fix dinner and clean up all at the same time, and he came to me and told me to go take a bath and he would take care of everything else! He is the best husband ever!

5. I LOVE TO BAKE GOODIES. This is something that I have discovered myself doing if I'm bored. I will make some yummy oatmeal fudge bars, peanut butter rice krispy treats, or caramel brownies. Unfortunately, my body suffers because of this, but good thing I love to work out!

6. FAVORITE SHOWS: Usually you can find me watching TLC or HGTV. I have found this new interest in homes and redecorating (even though I don't have the right house or the money to do anything right now) but a girl can dream, right? Other favorite shows: Friends, I Love Lucy, Seinfeld and Rachel Ray.

Mean Stanta?

Why is it that every child under the age of two is deathly afraid of Santa? I mean you sit on his lap and tell him what you want for Christmas and he gives you a candy cane! What can be so scary about that? Well, Ella will have to tell me later, because she was not happy about sitting on his lap at our Thompson Family Christmas party.

But Ella did have fun decorating a gingerbread house... or just eating all the candy!

Santa Came!

For Christmas morning we celebrated our first family Christmas at our own home. Ella's face was classic when she saw all the presents left by Santa underneath the Christmas tree. She actually understands opening presents, so it was fun this year to share in her excitement.

Kassie, Kylie and I all got "matching" Christmas pj's from Robbie & Craig as our New Year's Eve present. Jefffery was cute as always.Kade is figuring out which one to open first.

Botanical Garden's "Winter Aglow"

For Christmas Eve we all went to Downtown Boise's Botanical Garden's "Winter Aglow" lights display. It was amazing. The pictures didn't turn out that great, obviously because it's in the dark, but it was really beautiful.
