Astoria, OR: Deep Sea Fishing

Scott took the older kids on a camping/fishing trip for 3 nights while Brock and I went to visit my sister Melanie in Portland. They had a great time. Scott's buddy Mark from Boise and Isaac Brewer from Indiana flew out to go on this trip. Scott's parents Robbie & Craig were also there to he could go fishing with the gang. Robbie got some grandma time each day with one of the kids, as they switched days going fishing with dad. Cole went fishing with dad the first day.

Amazing how on the Oregon Coast it's always like 40 degrees cooler than in land. I think Portland was having their all-time record high's when we were there, and Astoria was chilly as always.

They took a guided tour that took them out past the sand bar, where the ocean and sea met. They each got their allotted 2 King Salmon.  They could've kept these monster sturgeon if they were there the week before, since the season ended on them.

Cole had a great time with daddy. And neither of them got sick!
Poor Scott's buddy Mark was heaving off the side of the boat the whole day, and didn't go out the 2nd day :(

The tour guide also had crab traps that he set out and let Scott and his buddies have.
Great 1st day of fishing!
Guess what they ate for dinner???

The next day Ella got to go out with Scott on the boat, while Cole stayed with Grandma.

She had a great time, and didn't get sick either.

Here's Craig, Isaac and Mark's son Ky with
their King Salmon catches.
Scott had a blast and considers this just as fun as
his fishing trip in Alaska and his
I love that our freezer is now filled with salmon and crab, yum!
